Cash is an extremely talented horseman and highly decorated Jockey.

Asmussen was a 5-time champion jockey in France, and he was the first (and still the only) American jockey to win the prestigious Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.  Asmussen amassed 100 grade/group I wins during a career in which he won over 3,000 races.

He won the Eclipse for champion apprentice jockey in 1979 and was a two-time leading rider in New York .

Asmussen’s importance to the selection and development of young horses in the stables of the owners for whom he rode, such as Stavros Niarchos and Henri Chalhoub is beyond question.

Additionally, his influence on French racing can be seen in the more crouched, American-style seat of the European born jockeys now riding the Great Races around the World.

Murray Smith is certainly among the best and most respected horse people in our Thoroughbred Industry.

With 160 stakes horses to her credit, of which 28 were graded stakes winners including track record setting horses, Murray truly understands the racehorse in a very special way. She set a record when she had a horse work a quarter at a two year old in training sales going 20.1 eclipsing her own record of 20.3.

As seller, Murray has topped 9 sales.

Smith has been involved with Thoroughbreds for more than 30 years. She caught the wave of 2-year-olds in training sales and rode it to pinhooking fame. It's a crowded field, and a lot of bloodstock entrepreneurs have tried their hand. But Murray Smith is the one who:

  • Bought Eclipse Champion Sprinter, Smoke Glacken.
  • Bought Monarchos right off the farm as a yearling. Monarchs won the Kentucky Derby in a time under 2 minutes joining only Secretariat as a Kentucky Derby winner to shatter the 2 minute barrier.
  • Bought Ruler's Court for $60,000 as a yearling and sold him to Sheikh Mohammed for $400,000 as a 2-year-old.
  • Bought What a Song for $95,000 as a yearling and sold him for $1.9 million as a 2-year-old to Robert Lewis, who won a bidding battle with Sid Craig.
  • Bought Wild Fit for $50,000 as a yearling, bought her back at a 2-year-olds in training sale, sold half, and subsequently consigned her to the 2005 Keeneland November sale, where she brought a bid of $3 million from Coolmore.

Those names should all sound familiar. As stated, Smoke Glacken ended up sprint champion of 1996. Monarchos won the 2001 Kentucky Derby.

unnamed (1).jpg
unnamed (3).jpg

Additionally Noteworthy:

Ruler's Court set a record winning the 2005 Norfolk Stakes by 14 lengths, while What a Song won the 2005 Best Pal Stakes at Del Mar before suffering a fatal training injury.

As for Wild Fit, she won the 2005 Del Mar Debutante and then finished second in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. Her accomplishments gave Smith bragging rights to prospecting three of the best 2-year-olds seen in California that season.

She has won more then 50 races as an owner. The finest and best in the thoroughbred business have trusted Murray to deliver a highest quality racehorse.

These days she continues to develop future racing stars being a completely hands on professional.

Dr. Charles L. Kidder is an equine veterinarian and a Thoroughbred owner and breeder in Lexington, Kentucky.

A 1974 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, he began practice with the esteemed Dr. D.L. Proctor, before partnering with Dr. J.K. Griggs in 1976 in a thoroughbred broodmare ambulatory practice.

Dr. Kidder has 40 years of experience specializing in yearling, weanling and mare confirmation evaluations and works closely with major sales consignors in Central Kentucky.

With his wife, veterinarian Dr. Nancy Cole, and son, Ben Kidder, the family owns and operates Corner Woods, Inc., a thoroughbred nursery in north Fayette County home to approximately 65 broodmares and their offspring.

The Kidder’s began a longtime owner/trainer relationship with Dallas Stewart after he graduated from the tutelage of D. Wayne Lukas.  One of their many runners was a stakes-placed daughter of Mr. Greeley named Solid Platinum. She won four races and $120,000.

Dr. Kidder has co-bred some significant stakes winners that include:

Dr. Kidder and partners purchased Eclipse finalist Stellar Jayne as a weanling to pinhook, and consequently raced her thru her three year old year before offering her for sale at the 2004 Keeneland November Mixed Sale where she secured a final bid of 3.6 million for the partnership.
